Girl. They also told me the baby weigh 2 pounds and 13 oz. When i told family and friends they ask "wow why is she so small'? and they think i should be eating more. My OB said i should be gaining 1lb a week. Is my baby suppose to weigh this much this far in my pregnancy? I am going to ask my OB about this next time i have an appointment but i just wanted to know what other ppl think.

That's fine. Your baby is still developing her vital organs, so all the nourishment is going for that. Over the next month she will start to put on more weight, but most of her weight will be gained in the last month of pregnancy. If your OB thought this was too small, believe me they would tell you. If you're concerned bring it up at your next visit. Congratulations and best of luck for a healthy baby!

The baby is at normal weight, the baby gains the majority of the weight towards the end. You are doing fine, the baby starts doing a pound a week towards the last few weeks, but you should be gaining a pound a week with the extra stuff yo are carry.

the baby usually gains a pound per week in the last month. If you went full term, you would have nearly a 7 pound baby which is completely normal. You are fine. Tell your family she is small because you still have 2 months to go and she is suppose to be that small.

Dont be alarmed.. Some babies are born small. My sis had her baby boy at only 2 pounds and 30 oz. The doctor told her to induced it after the 37 weeks coz her stomach is small and the baby wouldnt grow anymore. Anyway, the baby is healthy and he really gain lotsa weight when he was out. So dont worry and dont put all these worries to ur pregnancy.

as long as they didn't tell you anything was wrong when you were in there last time i wouldn't worry. Plus they can't put an exact weight on a baby inside you. Plus are you taking in to consideration your size, your husbands size, and immidiate family on both sides? I was always told my babies were small and I gained 50 lbs and 42 lbs with both of my babies and I am a smaller person. (5 ft. 1/2 and pre prego weight was 102 and 106) and my babies turned out good at the end. 6lbs 15 ounces (21 inches) and 7 lbs. 5 ounces (20 inches) they gain most of their weight towards the last 2 months of the pregnancy. Don't worry to much about it. Stress can = low weight birth
Congrats on your baby girl!

That isnt small

For 28 weeks

How your baby's growing: By this week, your baby weighs a little over 2 pounds and measures about 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels.

For 30 weeks

Your baby's a bit more than 15 1/2 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds

Well...thats almost 3 lbs and most babies do alot of growing in the last 2 months so it's likely you will have a small baby but as long as the baby is at least 5 lbs at birth, I would not worry.

I have to wonder though, how on earth can they know the exact weight of a baby not born yet? They can estimate but I dont see how anyone can really know.

you should be glad you are not gaining a pound a week. lol. i wish i had that problem. it's kind of reverse with me. i'm not gaining weight everywhere though, just my belly but it has gotten so big so fast i'm starting to wonder how large my baby will be. of course i'm having a boy also, so that may have something to do with it. he is very healthy and very active. he has in fact already began to drop and i am only 28 weeks. i don't think you should have anything to worry about. from the books i've read that sounds like a normal weight if your only 7 months. don't listen to what everyone else says, you should listen to your doctor first and most importantly because he knows what he is talking about.
