I use the individual lashes, they are much harder to apply but you can use as much or as little as you like.
If you buy the entire lash, you should trim them so they are not wider than your eyelid. You can also trim the length of the lash so they aren't super long, if you cut into them instead of across you will achieve a more natural look.
When applying the lashes you should glue them to your own lashes, not the eyelid skin, this way you do not see the band. If you can see the band just apply eyeshadow over it.
The associates at Sephora and Ulta are usually very helpful.

After 13 years as a professional makeup artist in san francisco, i know a thing or two about those pesky lashes. OK. To start, Lashes go on LAST. you will not be able to get a clean eyeliner line etc. if you dont...

1 coat of mascara first. this will curl and lift your lashes to where you want them.

THEN INDIVIDUAL LASHES are the only true way to fake out someone close up. Use just 2 or 3 at the outside corners only.

DO NOT BE AFFRAID TO TRIM THEM FIRST!

then just lie them on top of your lashes as close to the lashline as possible..

You then want to apply 1 more coat of mascara to blend them into each other.

Thats it! Good Luck!

use the ones that are only about 3 lashes per section and apply to the outer corners, it will make your eyes look great and not fake.
You can also find thin full length ones to layer right in with your own, the lengths of each lash are different (not too thick and not too long) so it looks natural. Also, apply only a thin line of adhesive, they look really obviously fake with a thick layer of goo! Good Luck & have fun with it!

the best way 2 apply them without looking fake is 2 use clear eye glue and not 2 get 1's that r not 2 long and 2 apply them as close/on yr natural eye lash line as possiable. and get a natural color

\they make a special glue that is clear for fake eyelashes, the main thing is to make sure they are not too long!! When they are really long they look fake. Also try getting some that just go on your outer lashes, they look really natural and make your eyes look bigger (if you want that).

I agree with Tiffany. The individual ones are the best. I sometimes apply them to the outer lash line so it looks more natural.
