I need it for my HP deskjet 5400 seris printer. I cant find the CD.

Try HP's website. The drivers are usually there for free download.

You need to go to a website where you can download drivers for example opendrivers.com.Search for your printer then download the driver. Or you can search the printer and then put drivers on google. Download the driver. It will probably be zipped so extract the files.Then when you connect the printer go to control pannel then systems go to the harware tab then click device manager. Find your printer on a list of devices. then double click on it. After click the driver tab. Then click on update driver after click on install from a list or specific location(advanced) then click next when your on the next page unclick search removable media and click include this location in search then browse for the driver you insatlled then click next there will be a warning message click continue anyways and thats it
