No. A dial-up service does not make your computer slow. Browsing the internet through a dial-up service is somewhat slow depending on your connection and if internet traffic is heavy.

Try deleting the temporary files and cookies. They will slow your computer down to a crawl!

Spyware also slows your computer down.

Try a spy-ware check. Dial-up doesn't slow your computer, it just makes it seem like it. Different providers have different speeds. I'm at work and their ISP is the local phone company and I want to throw the computer out a window. I have People PC at home (accelerated) and it is much faster

It makes your internet slow. You might have backround processes running for the dial up to work. The background processes take up memory, so it might be making your computer slow. Or you might have spyware.

Dialup is much slower than DSL / Broadband. Other things that slow up your pc are :
Full hard drive
Not emptying temp internet folders
Clearing cookies
Virus'
Spyware
Too many programs running at same time
hackers
Not defragged and scandisked lately.

Try and sort out these problems and see if it runs any faster.

Yeah, it sucks. The only thing you can do is to clear your caches and temporary internet files so that they don't bog you down any more than they have to.
