You don't even have the best baseball of the planet. In the classics you didn't get even to the semifinals. You lost to Mexico, where baseball is not popular. So why the "World Championship"?

Let's not forget that the winning team, Japan, had only 2 guys playing is USA. And the runner-up, Cuba, none.

I am not guilty if in your country money is the only thing that counts and the players don't want to play for the national team, not only in baseball...

To say that the Cuban team would be the last one in your league is nonsense, proof you that.

You obviously don't know anything about baseball if you think baseball is not popular in Mexico. And it's not the world championship, it's the World Series. Until a team from another country can assemble a team and abide by all the laws that the Major League has created then the team who wins that league are champions of the world. It doesn't mean that the teams are the most superior in the world, there may be superior talent in other parts of the world, but until you can purchase a franchise for yourselves and pay the players salaries to compete in the majors then the best league in the world will be Major League Baseball. Most of the worlds best baseball players all want to play in America. So therefore it is a true world championship.

1) It's not called "The World Championship". It's called the World Series you non-American dingleberry.
2) When it was named The World Series, every professional team in the world was playing in the Major Leagues. Japan and Cuba, and Mexico didn't have teams then. The name carried on.
3) All things considered, if the Cuban National team played in the Major leagues, they'd finish in last place every year. If any of the Japanese pro teams joined the MLB, they'd finish last. If the Mexican National team played here, they'd finish last. Major League Baseball is, by a wide margin, the most talented baseball organization on the planet. You think I'm wrong? Prove it. And not with that garbage WBC, where half our best players didn't want to bother playing, where our team practiced together for 3 whole days during spring training while the Cuban National team has played together for 20 years.
The WBC is a farce. If you're too dumb to realize that on your own, I probably can't help you.

When it was named "The World Series" in 1903, all the professional teams in the entire world were in the United States. Baseball has expanded tremendously, especially in the Caribbean and parts of Asia, since then, but the Series has retained it's name.
Actually, baseball is quite popular in Mexico. There has even been talk in the past of putting a Major League team in Mexico city. There are quite a few Mexicans in the major leagues.
In the Baseball Clasic this spring, Mexico and the Caibbean teams consisted mostly of Major Leaguers who play in the United States, but are not US citizens, they are citizens of the nations they played for. Most of the best players in the world come to the US to play. Japan has some good teams, but in the past few years, their best players have started coming to the US.

Because more than 50% of MLB (more if you include the minors) is from other countries...be it Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Canada, Cuba, etc...
Even though the sport is played in the states (except for Toronto), there is a wide variety of players from all over the world.

solid question. My spouse asked me the comparable question final evening regarding the NFL as to why they call the winner international champions. My reaction, we are self-based. i think because of the fact some gamers from international play in our sport leagues, so we sense the could desire to call them international champions. a minimum of faculty soccer has it suitable by calling their champion, the national champion. The winner of the international baseball classic in March can rather be stated as "international Champions." traditionally, I haven't any clue.

Don't be so naive. We could have sent college players to do a better job. These guys weren't playing with heart or pride, they only play for cash.
Unfortunately that's the problem.

Because the guys didnt care if they won or lost. they knew they were better than any of the others. If pitchers gave it their all the would of had a chance to wreck their arms and be done for the season
