KNOCKING the GUY off the motorcycle....
"rambo's" fair move of justice entitled him to be able to TAKE ACTION against teh SICK COPS who were messing with him, it did not entitle him to attack "pedestrian motorcycle joe".... WHo else sees what I mean?

Well I kind of look at "blowing up the store" as being AFTER the sick town's people sided with teh POLICE against john... biut perhaps I should not have looked at it that way... I mean the "average joe" may not have even known what was going on, or what? I mean the store "blowing up" was after they called in the national guard, so in essence john's battle now was extended against all people who sided with such a sick government/police force

It was very horrible what the police did to MEN like John Rambo.

Well, he did at least look back at the guy to make sure he was all right. He was fighting for his life, so I think his logic flew out the window. Blowing up the store wasn't so great either. But, it's also a movie where you're supposed to suspend disbelief. He rocked in that movie, no matter what anyone says. Stallone never gets the credit he deserves.

I wouldn't say it was wrong, you have to be in his situation. He wandered into a small town and was only looking for something to eat. the next thing he knows hes being kicked outta town by the Chief of police for no reason except that he's wearing an army jacket and hasn't showered in a bit. A little put off he heads back into town only to be apprehended and harassed for not giving his name and not wanting to be fingerprinted, which is his right because he was not doing any wrong why should his civil rights be infringed upon. Next the proceed to hosing him with ice cold fire-hose water, and beating him, sending him into a post traumatic fugue. From that point on it was a self preservation instinct recalling that in Vietnam, not even the children were innocent, so clotheslining the motorcyclist was just a way for him to quickly escape and evade the enemies.

Well i think it all came out of Rambo refusing to take friendly advice and leave the town. What else was the sherrif to do when a scruffy long haired transient walks into the town? It is a tale of pride leading to a fall, both from Rambo (remembering that in the original book, he dies) and from the sherrif.
