Let me tell ya gurl, marykay.com has the best tips or go to mac's website. marykay full coverage foundation is the best to me, but it all depends on YOUR skin. foundation is layerable, as long as you dont make it look cakey. put it on let it dry put another layer on. and mary kay makeup is not expensive. its about $14 for a tube of foundation but it lasts just about all day. just remember to get it based on how oily your skin is.

For a smoky look I use 3 eyeshadows and from light to dark (and top to bottom) we'll call them the highlighter, midtone, and accent.

The highlighter is your lightest eyeshadow and should be applied to the browbone(under your eyebrow). If you like, you may also use the highlighter color in the inner third of your lower eyelashes.

The midtone is your middle color (slightly darker than the highlighter) and is used on the entire eyelid (from eyelash line up to where it meets the color on your browbone).

The accent is your darkest color and is applied from your top eyelash line to the crease of your eye. Use your finger to gently blend where your midtone color meets your accent color.
You may also apply this color along the bottom lashes (apply to other 2/3 not covered by your highlighter color mentioned above)

This technique eliminates the need for an eyeliner, although you may still use one if so inclined. Liquid eyeliners can be pretty easy to use...if the applicator is good and thin (almost like a pen), you can line your eyes perfectly with a coordinating color.

As for foundations, I recommend you try a few to see which feels best and works best with your skin type. Mary Kay has great foundations, and if you e-mail me with a description of your skin tone and type, I can send you some samples to try.

I hope I have been helpful. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Enjoy your weekend!

You say nothing about your skin tone so I will not suggest color. Apply shadow starting at the inside of your lid (close to your nose) and fan toward the outside. Apply it in a fan shape, up and out, slightly above the lid. Go lightly at first. It is easier to apply more color if you need it than apply too much and look unpracticed. The eyeliner I use is Avon Glimmer Sticks. It's a pencil and much easier to apply than liquids. It is not too hard or too soft. I apply a little face powder over the liner (to keep it from smudging) and then reapply the liner for more intensity. Again, start at the inside of your eyelid. It is unnecessary to pull your eyelid by the way. I like to make a slightly thicker line as I proceed to the outside of my eye and make a small lash shape at the outside corner. Revlon makes an excellent liquid foundation that does not rub off. Get as close to your own skin color as you can. Hope this is helpful, beautiful!
