They are people just like any other. Of course stereotypes exist among all nationalities. Some I've heard are that the French are unfriendly and aloof. However, I have to counter that, because I've known some very nice French people. So it all boils down to the same thing -- no matter what your race, religion or national origin, you're going to encounter prejudice just because you are different. As the French say, "Vive la difference"!!!!

I found the French people to be quite nice, I visited Paris and Versailles. Not all spoke English, but they appreciated that I had learned a few phrases and was trying. I met a lovely elderly woman on the train to Versailles, we had a wonderful conversation, even though she had very little English and I had very little French. Talked fashion with another woman met on Rue de Rivoli. (She had a wonderful hat) Watched some men playing bocci on the green near the Eiffel Tower, they were happy to talk to us. A good experience.

Myself, I am indifferent. But my husband dislikes the French, said they are cowards and have no morals. About a month ago I was digging into his family genealogy. Well, I laughed out loud, because his great-grandmother was from France.

Though my ancestry is 1/4 French, I am not particularly fond of them. For one, they are rude, pompous, and egocentric. Not to mention, they are not in the practice of bathing regularly.
