If by dating, you mean going somewhere, for hours at a time, just the two of you, then an actual age is not the way to determine the answer. It depends on the maturity of the teen.
If your parents make those kinds of decisions based on generalizations, then I think I would say 16 at the youngest. However, if you are talking about talking on the phone, or going for a movie in your neighborhood, or doing school related activities together, then around 13 or so.

It depends on the individual and whether or not the parent feels that the child is responsible and mature enough to handle dating. Unfortunately with dating, sex comes into play. If the child isn't responsible enough then the parents too will have repercussions for that. (pregnancy, disease) It's a cruel world out there.. I say the later in life, the better.

The age of 16 is a good age to start dating. Before a child starts dating educate them on things that are important and let them know what their boundaries are when they start.

Well I am a guy and I never had an age that I couldnt date....but uhm I'm 17 and I think girls should be able to date uhhh I would say 14....I think the parents are just worried about them getting pregnant and **** and bla bla bla bla :)
