The thing I have always loved about Mel Gibson is his outlandish candor and outspoken manner. I doubt he meant tohurt the Jews, we have probably all said some stupid things when we were drunk. Everything seems to get twisted in the interpretation especially when a big celebrity is involved. People thrive on that kind of stuff.
However, I think it is true that most wars are the result of religious differences, going back in time to the crusades and even before, so who knows?
I still love Mel!

I like his movies and I could care less who he hates and what he says about anyone. He's an actor, writer and director, he's not the pastor of my church, parent, teacher or any other person who would/could influence my personal beliefs or racial thoughts. I've lived in the south for almost four years and I hear alot of people say they hate one ethnicity or religion, does that mean all people in the south think that way? No, but people are entitiled to their opinion. I think, in a way, Mel is right. Many of the studio heads and power in Hollywood are Jewish and they do control everything in the industry. As far as what his father had to say about the Holocaust, that was his father stating his opinion also, not Mel.
I have been watching alot of Mel's movies lately and he is a great actor. I will continue to watch his movies both at home and in the theater!

Yes I still like Mel Gibson. And no I don't care about whatever he said when he was drunk.
By the way, "mikemike6189", Mel was in the "Lethal Weapon" series not in "Die Hard". You're getting him mixed up with Bruce Willis.

hey hey hey, hold it there just one minute.
who ever said we loved mel gibson?
you see some of us out there still believe that actors aren't great men, they're not saving the world, they don't deserve what they get and rarly get what they deserve. and mel gibson is just another actor, but i can agree with you in one way - i don't care what he did, he's still mel gibson. i just don't know if that's a good thing.

I still love Mel. I have a cat named Riggs after his character in the Lethal Weapon series. All of us make mistakes from time to time. His just happened to be in the public eye.

At the risk of not getting best answer, because you obviously like him, I think he's showing his true colors. He's an anti-semite! His movie was enough proof for me. I call it "The Gospel according to Mad Max"

Yes, especially in re-runs of Brave Heart. I think it is the kilt that does it for me.

We seem to create images of celebrities and forget that they are people with faults. When we see the faults, we back away from them. I still like him and will continue to see his movies.
