Both are great, but I like NYC better. It's more eclectic, with more to do.

Each is a good city in their own right. New York has fancy stores, plays and activities. Washington is more historical.

Seriously, life is much better on the West Coast. Imagine life where people don't die from the extremes every summer and winter, there aren't any hurricanes, and no humidity!

DEFINITELY NY. Best city in the world! I'd kill to live there and get the hell out of this boring, filthy, tired whole. Pittsburgh, that is. Take me with you...even if I have to live on the street.

Lived in both. they both have it's goods and bads.
NY/NJ people are a little annoying. Seems like everyone is a Buttafucco.
Washington is just full of BS politics.
