I've wondered that too until I came to Florida. Here guys could sound like they are gay but they are not. And, I'm aware that some people from other countries sound like that too and would really get angry if you suggested they were gay. So I think the voice you have is what you heard when you were growing up. For those that have a different sound (rather than a different way of saying words) I would think maybe it has something to do with their vocal chords.

Asked and answered many times...why is it some women talk like men, while others use their own tone of voice?

Not every man has a deep voice and not every woman has a higher pitched voice. I'm a woman and have been mistaken for a man over the phone many times, regretfully.

It is usually the gay male with feminine tendencies that talks and uses feminine. The lover will tend to pick up these traits living with his partner. The feminine gay desires a male that displays totally masculine tendencies. I am gay and I prefer men who are feminine. In fact I prefer them to crossdress while I maintain a macho attitude. I have also been with lovers and when I have displayed myself in womens's apparel they call me sissy. Eventually you hope to find that right person who will become both your lover and you friend.

Pitch and tone of voice has nothing to do with sexuality - have you heard of Mike Tyson?
