I've asked a few questions on Yahoo Answers regarding people or things in "general" and a lot times both on here and in real life I get response like but I don't do that or that's not me or they know someone who isn't like that. My question is why do people consider that a good rebuttal when the question is regarding a general population or action. There always are people who don't fit the norm but for a general population, what being said is true. So for people who do that, why do you feel that bringing up ONE example against what someone says is sufficient to counter a "general" question?
