WICHITA LINEMAN written by Jimmy Webb and performed by Glen Campbell. (Jimmy Webb's own reading of the song he penned is far more moving).
The unusual chord progressions give me goosebumps and the fact that the song is simply about a ordinary guy that works as a telephone engineer and his pining for a love interest makes it a heartfelt musical masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.
I saw Jimmy Webb performing his own songs (just him and a piano) that other artists have recorded and made famous. He played a small venue in London 2 years ago and I have to say he is one of the most emotive & sincere performers I have ever seen. I was moved to tears several times during the concert. He has a way of slipping in a haunting chord that you just don't expect whilst formulating a perfect pop song that creates that goosebump moment.
Check his music out! (Galveston, The Highway Man, etc, etc)

I have no all time favourite, I have songs that bring back good and sad memories. I have current favourite songs that are new. I couldn't possibly pick one song. It would change from hour to hour.

Thats tough, but I'll probably say Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. The guitar in that song is incredible, but then again, it's Jimi Hendrix...
