You need to change your mentality. Chances are you probably start to think about it and you then decide to do something more fun or less boring. The key here is to make sure that you always keep you mind on purpose. Ask yourself what the purpose is of completing this work and what benefits I will see in the future. Change this habit now before it is too late and you end up settling for something that isn't what you want.

ugh.. it is so difficult to actually do anything productive! (I'm being serious, I am a horrible procrastinator, too). Schedules NEVER work for me... I just ignore them. The only thing that works for me is to set a goal and stick with it. For example: by 6pm, I want to have 10 pages read, or 2 pages written, whatever. Then at 6-- just stop and move on. A bonus is that sometimes I get into a rhythm, so instead of stopping at 6 I just want to finish before I get off-track, and projects get completed early instead of late.

Another thing that works for me is to-do lists, and I purposely put too much on there so I have stuff to carry over to the next day. I just face the fact that I am a procrastinator, and I know not everything will get finished, so better to plan for it instead of pretend I will actually do everything I have to in one day. I often find I will complete the tasks that are most important, and the least important will get pushed back for days and days and days (like ' Clean Closet'.. ugh)

But all this only works sometimes. If you find the cure, please let me know!!

Hey gurlfren! U have the exact same situation as me. we are in fact still students right?! So, i have came out with this solution for myself and u shld try it too.....
Each day, i set aside an hour to work on my homework. Only one hour. After that time limit, i stop everything and get on with my life. even if its a little, at least its something.
At the end of the day, u still have to do it right?! so, work on bit by bit.

good luck ^^

get down on you knees and pray if you need a miracle . Only God hands out miracles. Remember what the Bible says.. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.. Next go to a Christian Book store or a Library and get all the books you can by Emile Barnes. An excellent resource on how to get and stay organized. I will be praying

Set a goal for yourself and a reward that you would not normally give yourself. If you are in college, you have to do this yourself, if you are in high school or lower, then you will have to talk to your parents about helping you out with this. Make a deal and set the guidelines. Gives you something to work for. Good luck.

Yeah me too Betty but I have found that I do my best work when under pressure!! That is not to say that procrastinating is good though, but most of the time it works out well for me.

Ritalin...seriously. Get tested. It's real, for some people. Good luck. Other people are just lazy, but it looks like you're trying really hard.
