Report it I have a feeling you want to but you are not 100% sure that is why you try to justify not sure if its true as you are basically scared to report it. Do it anonymously get it off your chest and move on. I don't know what the crime was but down our end a fella has got put down for some burglaries and rapes as a victim when forward after 17 years or so.

If it was murder, attempted murder, rape or sexual abuse you must do something about it. The fact that 15 years on you're still thinking about it would indicate it must have been a relatively serious crime. Do you really want to be thinking about it for the next 15 years. If you live in the UK call Crimestoppers or even call your local police station and tell them you have information I'm sure they will be glad to talk to you. If in your opinion this person deserves to be visited by justice you will be doing the right thing.

Yes. It's been on your concious this long then you know it's the right thing to do. If it caused the loss of life or property, involved rape, assault, crimes against children ect., then you have no choice but to do the right thing. Maybe someone else innocent took the blame? Maybe someone's family can't resolve what happened in thier heart and mind until the crime is solved. Even small pieces of evidence help out investigators. It's like a puzzle, and you hold one of the pieces.

If you're not sure that it's one hundred percent true then there is no point. What is the source? Legal documents you found in a house that has been abanded for fifteen years? Or a mate telling you a rumour from a friend of a friend? If it's the latter I think you know what to do.

I think it has been on your concience all this time so for your own sake I would report it.It is difficult to give advice as I do not know what happened but if someone else has suffered because of the crime I think you will have to come to a decision. Good luck.

Definately. You have a responsibility to report anything you might know. They police will decide if the info has merit and the case is worth working on. Then you can sleep at night knowing you did what is right. God Bless~

Why are the majority of these ppl saying only report the crime if it was murder?! That's insanse. Are we forgetting about robbery? kidnapping? rape? Yes, do the right thing and make your information known to the Police.

After so many years they would not bother looking into it. I know, because I reported someone who I definitely knew had committed an armed burglery, some 20 yrs ago, and they were not interested. So sleep easy and quit worrying about it.

Ask the police (or an attorney) what the statute of limitations is.
It may not matter. But do you really want to be in the position of potentially getting into trouble for not reporting it?

Yes! Maybe the authorities will be in a better position to judge the merit of the information you have.
