I have 13 children and all have graduated to a toddler bed at different times. If the older child isn't a "wonderer" it is fine to make the move, however if the child wont stay in the bed unless it has the the restriction of the "babybed" then it is safer for the child and you to keep using the babybed. If a toddler bed can be used untill age 5, then so can a babybed. I've had to do that before. I've also put a child in a toddler bed before they were a year old.

Nope, I'm not too fond of goats... I DO have children though. As far as putting the older into a toddler bed, the other childs' age is irrelevant. When your child is old enough to climb in/out of the crib, it's time to put him/her into a toddler bed. You could also ask your pediatrician their opinion. Remeber, EVERY child is an individual and will be ready for different steps at different ages. I have 3 children with the youngest being 6 (just turned 6 <

I put mine in a toddler bed when I saw her trying to climb out of her crib- she was about 13 months old. I moved her into a regular bed just last month- toddler bed was just too small for her. She is 4 yrs old. Hope it helps.

When your kids start climbing in the crib, then its time for a toddler bed. They can climb out of the crib and fall, so when my son started climbing (around 1 1/2yrs) I got him a toddler bed with safety rails on the sides. Good luck!

I have one little girl who is 3. I put her in a toddler bed around 2 years old or so. She was sick of the crib, she would scream bloody murder every time we would put her in it. I'd say if he's been trying to climb out, then he's probably ready for the toddler bed.

I have 4. put them all in a bed about 13 - 14 months, in a safe room. Before they learnt they could easily get out of the bed, they got used to the new bed. Worked for 3/4, nothing is ever 100%,

I have 2 children, 18 months apart. To make room for the new baby, I put my oldesst in a real twin bed about 3 months before the baby was born (15 months old) (with a side rail) so she wouldn't feel like the baby just came in and took her bed.

No, I do not have kids, but I do have three younger brothers. My family never used cribs or toddler beds. The house would be full of them if we did ;D. Everyone would just pile up on the king-sized bed and sleep. Yes, it's a little bit cramped, and sometimes you wake up with a puddle next to your ear, but it feels really nice to be able to sleep under mom's armpits or curled at dad's feet.
My point is : To hell with toddler beds! Small children should never be separated from their parents anyway ^^
