What are Athe Advantages of A country Going Metric?The Disadvantages?

I am Doing a short report and need to know what the advantages and the disadvantages are for a country that is going to become metrified or has been metrified

Pros
1, When you go to live or visit another country you would not have to worry about converting.
2. All packaging to all countries would be the same. It would remove some trade barriers. (this could be seen as a con?)
3. Kids wouldn't have to learn conversions all the time
4. It would simplify our world and make American seem less ignorant, helpless fools.

CONS
1. All of the products, such as dress patterns, engineering designs, shoes, ...... would have to be changed over to metric. This would be costly if it involved new factory equipment.
2. There would always be at least one generation of confused individuals who would have trouble adjusting.
3. We would lose a tradition.
4. Somehow the conversions would have to remain until the end of time to explain why things were made with odd measurements so archeologists would not think some strange beings from another planet use to inhabit a large portion of North America. And so we could still use items made previously.

The advantage is more clarity in measurement. The disadvantage is the cost of changing over and re-educating the populace into a different system.

Well the metric system is a lot easier to learn. It'd also be a lot better since almost every country besides the US uses the metric system.
