Contact the public defender directly. Ask the pd what the rules are, and be specific about the status of the case. Give the name of the original attorney.

He will be able to tell you the state of the law in your state, and perhaps appear before the judge to help argue that a pd should be appointed.

Secondly have your daughter state more than once on the record that she wants a pd and cannot afford a private attorney. The judge may back down. If not you have created a record for appeal -- and the prosecutor might even take your side.

Has the financial situation changed any since the lawyer was hired for the first offense? If not, it might be difficult to show that she deserves to have the taxpayers provide an attorney.

greater beneficial than possibly your husband is going to get out with time served. A public defender is often the backside on the totem pole. those are the legal specialists that may not have the capacity to maintain their very own prepare, won't have the capacity to get employed on as D.A.'s (or have morale subject concerns with being one), and could't get on with any companies. hardly do you spot a public defender doing it because of the fact he loves it. those adult males are over puzzled and are ok for ordinary circumstances yet no longer plenty else. My brother had the comparable difficulty in Ca and he did a week in detention center (10 days, out in 7 for solid time). i understand you will pay attention this plenty yet tell your fiancee to scale down the site visitors fines and he won't get into this mess.
