Sure. You're scared "half to death" the first time. If you get scared "half to death" again, you are now a half of a half "scared to death", OR a quarter of your original "scared to deathness". You essentially could die quite often

Of course, its a fraction thing:

you get scared 1/2 to death, so you're still 1/2 to life right?

Then you get scared 1/2 to death again which would make you 1/4 to life surely?

This could conceivably carry on forever.

actually it would progress exponentially, so yes. You would get scared half to death the first time, then after that it'll be half of the half to death. And so on and so forth.
