They can be off by a little, though they are usually pretty close. I would just about swear that they were about 3 weeks off with my youngest...when I had my ultrasound, they told me I was 10 weeks along, though according to the first day of my last period, I would have been 13 weeks along. Admittedly, my periods were irregular and maybe not a good gage. However, she was born "three weeks early" and was 8 pounds. Makes you wonder, huh?
Speak to your ob/gyn about it if you have concerns, and good luck!

Of course they could be... no one is perfect and, despite the most advance technology, only YOU are really going to know for sure when it is that you most likely conceived. And even then, most mothers can't say the exact day and time (unless it happened at a specific event or on a specific day - like an anniversary celebration or something like that). You may know the last TIME you had sex... but since sperm can stay viable for awhile, it's always possible you became pregnant AFTER that time... not at that moment.
If it's just a question of curiosity, then I say "don't sweat it". If it's a question of paternity or something else... then I say you have bigger issues to be concerned about and there are tests to deal with that sort of stuff.
Either way, good luck.

Well when you have your 20 wk ultrasound (normally the time you can find out the sex of the baby) they measure the baby on the growrth and will make sure that your due date measure's up to the growth of the baby. So you may have to wait a little.
But I agree you sound like you want them to be wrong. Could there be a question on the fathers?

Yes they can be off by a week or so. But usually no, they measure your child in the ultra sound to make sure the weight and size and use that to determine how old your child is.

yeah, there is no exact date when telling you your due date....always +/- 2 weeks. Basing a due date off the sonogram could be incorrect bc the size of the baby may be large for the actual gestation, or small...when I was pregnant, my son was 2 weeks "late"...and my doc had told me all along, +/- 2 weeks.

whenever they tell you they do not add the 2 week for the conciving part so if your really 4 weeks they will tell you only 2 but it is also possible for them to be off also

of course there is always room for doctors to be wrong but an ultrasound in the first trimester is pretty accurate. because towards the end babies come in all sizes.
