Turn off Num Lock

On my Gateway laptop, you toggle this setting with Fn+scroll

You probably have a 'function' key on your keyboard. (it's a different color). what probably happened is that you hit that and a number key (across the top) and it made some of the letter keys act like numbers. Look closely at the keys, I'll bet that there's a letter (in one color) and a number (in a different color)

It's a toggle key - which means that if you hit function and the number key (across the top) that turned ON the keys, hitting it again will turn it off.
