Electric razors do work, but just not as well as a good blade.
I own a Braun - the one that charges while it cleans itself (CCR = clean and charge storage stand). I would never own anything other than a Braun. They are, IMHO, the best name in electric razors for men.
The link is below. They actually have some newer (and more expensive) models on the market now.

Yes Braun is probably the best. Personally, I don't think you get as close of a shave with electric as regular razors. It really depends on how thick your facial hair is.

Yes they do. Braun is very good as are most known brands. However, you must not mix the two different systems - dry and wet. You must give the electric at least a fortnight to enable your stubble to get used to the difference. Stretch the skin with one hand while you rotate the razor with the other. You will find it convenient and excellent after the initial couple of weeks........

I have one by Conair and it works wonders. I absolutely love it because I have really sensitive legs it is too much for me to shave them with a regular razor every other day and so I use the electric razer. It takes a few times to get used to it, but after the first week or so you will really start to love it. I don't like using it on my armpits though, I only use it on my legs and my pubic area. It came with a bikini attatchment and it is sooo much better than using a regular razor. I never get cuts now!

Braun is the most expensive and supposedly very good. I have used Remingtons for decades and get good results with those.
Haven't used a safety razor in 30 years.

Braun is good but nothing will replace a good old fashioned razor

Yes, they work. But they are not as close a shave as with a razor.

I have the NORELCO model#6826xl, and it works very well.
However I have found to truly get the closest shave a hand razor works best.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt
