I have read that the KLEEN WHEELS brand restricts "cooling off" the brakes - is that bad? What affect does that have, if any, with stopping the vehicle? Will the brakes fail? Wear out faster?

These items, while keeping the wheels clean, restrict the air flow around the brake rotors resulting in excessive heat build up and premature brake wear. Avoid them and spend the money you save washing the car.
