Yeah, snobby and rude seem to be the negative consensus... maybe like some French would think of Americans as stupid or brutish. But the good news is that these are just stereotypes, and only some people let that crap affect their judgement of others. Plus, to stay positive, French women are often considered to be hot.

I don't know why Americans think the French are so bad. They are humans just like everybody else on this planet. Just because the French do things a little different and the USA does not make them wrong. They have there ways and us Americans have ours. France is a great place to go to, and nobody should judge it before they go there. When you live in Louisiana you learn a lot about the French and they are very good people. People just like you and me...

As a whole, I'd say they're quite nice, especially when you get away from Paris. But I think that's like any large metropolis, that many people crammed together especially with all the tourists, the Parisians probably just get annoyed. I can't blame them. So, I say that the French are nice people. I disagree with their government structure (I think socialism is horrible), and I disagree with their politics in general (fight a war, it's good for you).

However, I must say that their wine is over-hyped, it is good, but there are many other quality wines being produced around the world. But, if I met a Frenchman on the street, I'd be nice to him. Like I said, as a whole the French are quite nice.

I bear no ill will toward the French people. I agree with you about our governments (US and French) being the problem. And the media hype puts us in a bad light with you, and you in a bad light with us. I don't personally know any French people and have often wondered why we are supposed to hate you. I believe in loving everyone, as God wants us to. The whole thing about changing French fries and French toast to Freedom fries and Freedom toast was utterly ridiculous!!

I was always told French people were snobby and rude. Well, I went to France 10 years ago with my french class. I only met nice people...especially people that were trying to sell me something.

Spent a month in France. Loved it. Thought the people were great. Hopefully I can go back next summer. Au Revoir.

If you are a nice person that's what you are. Nationality doesn't or shouldn't come into it. I think all nice French people are marvelous.
