yes and yes. Pluto is now considered what they call a dwarf planet which is bigger than a star but smaller than a planet. They made new orbit standards which pluto did not meet hence the new catagorization. There are also two more planets that are going to be added to our solar system.

Yes. Pluto has been quietly debated as being a planet since it was discovered. But because a new "planet" was discovered. U.S. school teachers latched onto it because it peaked childrens interest in science. From my understanding... most of the world outside the U.S. taught that there were 8 planet's in our solar system. It just seems now everyone has decided to agree.

It is true. Pluto has been demoted to dwarf planet. Now all the school kids will not have Pluto as a choice for their planet reports. I wish they would eliminate Uranus or re-name it for the sake of all the bathroom humor that Uranus elicits from 4th grade boys.

Yup. Pluto is now a Dwarf Planet. Not a real one. New ones will be added if they are discovered and are big enough

Looks like it. It is all over the news. It seems to not be big enough to be a planet. Does not meet up to the "planet code" I guess that what you can call it. Anyway it is sad that we only have 8 planets now :(

Yes, since the scientist have finally agreed to define what a planet is, more planets could be added.

It is true. It is not longer a planet anymore. isn't that weird? we've grown up with 9 planets int he solar system, now they want to tlel us that they wewre lieing to us all along. Apparently it does not justify all of the requirements to be a planet.

Yes. And no, it doesn't look likely, based on the latest agreement over definition of a planet.
