Santiago Chile - went alone and followed a guidebook to various sites. The people are especially friendly - I was using a subway map and couldn't figure out which way to go - Business people would stop and ask if they could help. The food is fantastic too - seafood and beef are amazing there. The subway is astonishingly clean - no litter whatsoever and the locals put paper in their pockets rather than dropping it on the floor. I could live there!!!

Early this year we went to London and Edinburgh Scotland, which is the most charming little city in the UK. Everyone was friendly, it was beautiful, and reasonably priced.
