I was stunned.
Brutal...graphic...unrelenting...my kinda nasty.
I was not expecting the film makers to give it 105%. I was just not expecting the severity of the movie...at all. Unsettling is a good way to describe it for the images are still with me and I saw it months ago.
I liked how they incorporated so much material from different Silent Hill games...and I am glad they used a woman instead of a man hunting for his daughter....lent for a more believable odyssey.
The visuals were outstanding...and I found myself caught up and transported into the world of Silent Hill. The monsters were so well done and converted for maximum effect on screen that I just found myself shaking my head during and after the movie. There is no comparison to playing the game with the lights off and the headphones on...but this film did not need to compete with the video game...it instead complimented the games.
I will buy the DVD now that it is out. And I stopped buying DVD's longtime ago. Now that I think about it...the weekend is here...and no time like the present...to take a trip to Silent Hill.

I saw it and was confused by what happend to the mother and daughter and why they were not seen at the end....now because of one of the people that answered you I found out that they died in the car crash...that makes a lot of sense now...the cop as well died and that is why she didnt cry out in a lot of pain when she was burned...The only thing I didnt like was the husband who just went home and took a shower... I would be running around with my head cut off trying to find my family...Now that I understand the ending I liked the movie...in some parts though it was a little too much of the mom walking around the town going from one place to another....I have never played the video games but I am sure now that they must be good and scary...

One of the best movies I've ever seen. I am obsessed with the video game series and this helps. Surely the best adaptation from video game to film. It is just unique. Great as a standalone too (if you haven't played any Silent Hill game), but the experience surely changes if you have spent even 1 hour in front of your TV screen wandering in the wonderful Playstation Town of Silent Hill...

Hi i thought it was just like the game. Have you played all the games, if you think that the film was unsettling then try playing them if you havent. All i can say whoever thinks of the monsters and all the other stuff is disturbed, but brilliant in a strange way.

It was kinda lame, then again it followed the Video game to a T, having beat parts 1-3 I can actually say it stayed true to the game.
And Yes, they DID infact die at the end, everyone in that room did, and they were just spirits walking around, this explains why her husband couldn't hear her over the phone...then again, it could have been better.

Can't say I really liked it.
The games were good, which is why I went to see the film, but the film was pretty poor in my opinion. Actually, it was more than poor, it was utter crap.
To much, of the woman running round being silly and acting badly. She was annoying.

I didn't like it at all. I never played the game, but the movie was horrible in my opinion. No one in our group liked it.
