New extra-Solar System planets are being found at the rate of twenty a year

New Solar System asteroids are being found at the rate of 5000 a month, about 166 a day

We have found 1000+ Trans-Neptunian Objects in our Solar System in 14 years, That is about one every five days

We advanced from about 20 Moons in the Solar System in 1900 to 162 orbiting planets and over 80 orbiting asteroids or TNOs today. That is about 2 a year,

But solar system planets are a little harder to come by. There was Uranus in 1781 and Neptune in 1846 and Pluto in 1930 and that is it,

Not sure about galaxies, Must check that out. It is all part of life's rich tapestry.

Galaxies are so numerous that they can essentially be discovered at will. For example, a photo called the Hubble Deep Field was taken of a tiny spot of the night sky, the size of a tennis ball held 100 meters away from the observer. It contains 3000 galaxies. The Hubble Ultra Deep Field is one tenth the diameter of the moon, and contains 10000 galaxies. So scientists can really discover as many galaxies as they want at any time by just taking a photograph of them.

well after such a long period three more mentioned and after discussions now brought down same old but deleted too .now 8 only r the plants..so though people could locate in the galaxee which are circling around sun how long they go on around it .some go out some enter like that .so we have to finalise .
when once a planet is called a planet ,the good old plane pluto is no more planet now only 8 of them .so the matter goes on and go off .

We've discovered a number of planets outside the solar system, but the discoveries are infrequent. We only have 202 so far. It's not like we can point a huge telescope at a star and count the dots- we have to infer their existence from other data.

With the new definition of planet it is almost certain that no more will be found within our solar system but one or two extrasolar planets are being discovered per month.

Zero. Finding planets is hard work. We know they are out there but we don't have good enough 'eyes' to actually see them.

Even within our own solar system we have a famous 'ghost planet' called planet X. Nobody can prove or disprove it is there.

Ming: Klytus, I'm bored. What play thing can you offer me today?
Klytus: An obscure body in the S-K System, your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet Earth
Ming: I like to play with things while... before annihilation
Ming: Pathetic Earthlings - who can save you now?

Flash, a-ah, saviour of the universe
Agent: Strange object imaged in the Imperial Vortex.

Flash, a-ah, you saved every one of us
Ming: Remove the Earth woman. Prepare her for our pleasure

Flash, a-ah
Aura: Don't kill him yet, father. I want him
He's a miracle

Dale: Go Flash, go
