Vegetarianism is the exclusion of meat and fish from one's diet. More strict vegetarians also exclude all products derived from slaughtered animals, such as lard, which is rendered animal fat.
Depending on the ingredients used in the making of animal crackers, they would be excluded from a vegetarian diet.
The list of ingredients for Barnum's Animal Crackers, a very popular brand, is flour, sugar, shortening, corn flour, whey solids, salt, leavening and oil-of-lemon. Depending on whether the shortening is animal or plant-derived would determine whether or not a vegetarian could eat it.
Interestingly, a vegan would be proscribed from eating this particular brand of animal cracker, as they contain whey solids, which are derived from milk. Vegans refuse to eat any animal-derived products, even if the animal is not slaughtered in the production.

I don't know about that yeast thing, because technically it's a microbe and nobody can help but to eat millions of them on a daily basis (not all microbes are gross or bad)
but if the ingredients include lard, I'd have to say that the delectible little critter-shaped treats would be off-limits to vegetarians

yup! as long as there's no meat things in it or gelatin stuff or anything that uses meat, it should be alright! they're just shaped like animals, not made from them!
