Basically, America (and the UK) are giving the Iraqi people a choice. They had an evil dictator (I'd say that's a fair assessment of Saddam) and we got rid of him for them. Now, it's up to the Iraqi people to decide what they want to happen to their country. They can stop their religious wars and build a democracy or they can fall into civil war and eventually a new dictator will emerge after thousands are killed (probably a group like the Taliban will gain control).

Obviously, it was the USA's goal to have Iraq become a democacy, I still think it can be. But if it fails to become one, I wouldn't say it was America's fault. It would be the failing of the Iraqi people.

I think they started a catalyst that COULD lead to a democratic society in Iraq (hopefully not like the one in Palastine).

I ALSO beleive they WILL have a civil war (too may sects and ethnic groups who want to ensure they aren't mistreated anymore and they are DISTRUSTFUL of others). I don't think the US should be involved in that one.

In the US our Democracy, and Freedom reserves have been depleted, but we have plenty bureaucracy and hypocrisy to go around.
