My daughter had colic starting from three weeks of age. She would stay up until like 3 AM screaming her head off! At first I would just bounce her in her bouncy chair for hours and that would kinda keep her calm. One day I looked up online what to do out of despiration and found website made by a pediatrician. She said to try getting your child on a routine and let me tell you!! That was the best thing I ever did! After two weeks her colic COMPLETLY disapeared!! She hasn't had any bouts of it since! Although all children are differnt this seems to work the best!!

Pray to god it will end soon... My step daughter was a very colicy baby. The average baby stops having colic around 3-4 months old but it can last until they are 7 months like savannah's did. Also I've heard we never tried it but they say there are certain herbal med. that can help with colic. good luck

There are many things to try like drops for gas... can't remember what they are called and old wives tales, but the bottom line is nothing really helps. I had two babies with colic and tried lots of "sure cures". In the end it was only time that helped. Try to be patient and remember this too shall pass.

The only thing that may help is different formula.... some people swear by soy. Again it made no difference to my kids, but I think some babies do digest it easier... it may be worth a try. Good luck... I certainly remember those days and feel for you.

Hopefully you own a rocking chair. All three of my babies had colic when they were little. I had a Vicks vapor machine that I kept on all of the time and held them alot. Putting them on their tummies while they are on your lap works and then gently give them little back rubs.
You might also try some of the new line of Johnson and Johnson products they have now. My daughter-in-law says the one for baths with lavender in it works wonders for the baby.

Well there is something called Gripe water which my sister absolutly swears by. Though it won't sometimes work for all children. Look on Rightstart.com for it. It is by Baby's bliss and is called gripe water. It is a little on the expensive side, but I think it is worth it. Plus it also helps with gas, upset stomache and hiccups! Also sometimes depending on what type of bottle you use it can cause the baby to be colicy. Try a couple of different bottles that reduce collic to see if that helps! Good Luck!

I placed my babies across my lap on their tummy and rubbed or patted their back.
A grandma's remedy for colic, and I hope you can find it where you live, is anise sugar (or anise powder). It is said to alleviate colics from gas, and has no interactions or side effects. It worked for my children.
There was also the car ride, driving until they fell asleep (and praying for no red lights). Expensive with gas prices as they are, but effective.

There are some things to try like changing the formula to soy, but there is really nothing you can do to stop the crying. The best thing you can do is find somebody to watch your baby so you can have a break.

Try this...worked wonders for my sister. Turn on the radio to a channel that doesnt come in and just has static. Leave it on for a few minutes and she may stop. Sounds crazy but its worth a shot!
