Press the "Print Screen" button...usually near the top right of your keyboard. That copies the image to your clipboard...then all you have to do it paste it in a graphics editing program, like Paint or Photoshop.

You can use the "Print Screen" button at the top-right of your keyboard. It will copy the image on your monitor. You can then paste it into any graphics program. If you don't have a professional graphics program, you can use Paint which comes with Windows XP.
Unfortunately, this method doesn't work well for videos since most movie players blank out the video when you try to capture an image. You can use VLC to get around that though. You can download it for free at

The quickest way I do it is to hold down the "alt" button and press the "Print Screen" button. That will save an image of your screenshot to the clipboard. To see the screenshot, you have to open MS Paint, Photoshop, or whatever image editing program you use and then click paste (or CTRL-V). You can then edit the screenshot your your heart's content.
Enjoy!

Use the Print Screen button. You can open Word and paste it there.
To crop this image: Select the image (opens the Pictures toolbar) and use the cropping tool. Afterwords, you can resize as desired.
