Sometime laying down can cause a baby to move back a little. So I would think it would be pretty common to move back a station after you've had a little bed time compared to after walking around for a couple of hours. My fourth had a small head and would wiggle his way down deep into my pelvis which made it horribly uncomfortable to take care of the first 3 children! I would kneel on the floor put my head down with my butt in the air and he would gently slide back a little giving me great relief.

Your effacement and dialation is progressing because he is usually down pretty far!

I don't remember anything about stations and my daughter is only 19 months old now. I was 1 cm dilated and 90% effaced at my check-up when my doctor told me that I probably wouldn't go into labor for a few more days. However, I went into labor that night and had to walk around for 2 hours at the hospital or they wanted to send me home. Thankfully I dilated to 3 cm and they kept me. Good luck!

Just trying to readjust and find the right path to go. The baby will do lots of moving up and down in the next several days. It will get it figured out. The best thing you can do right now is walking and squatting to help open up the canal for "better directions" for the baby. Let gravity be the road signs. Good luck!

Did the same person examine you? You may be borderline and there was a difference of opinion between the nurses. If you are still effacing and dialating I wouldn't worry. Good luck.
