Waxing is painful. I shave using a small scissors to carefully cut away the excess hair first and cutting as low as possible. I then use the razor to define the edges. I never clean shave cause that really itches when its growing back. You can also try those battery operated razors for dry shaving. Remember to shower afterwards. Aint nothing wrong with shampooing and conditioning down there....or use a great smelling bath /shower gel. Makes "it" smell great. Never use perfume or lotion. Please remember to always use a shaving cream when you are not using a battery operated shaver as this prevents bumps. Another way to prevent bumps is to shave in the direction that the hair grows. When you shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth the hair sometimes retracts into the skin and this causes bumps too. Always take care when caring for the private parts. All the best!

I personally think waxing is alot better. It hurts a bit but it's worth it. In my experience, shaving doesn't last a whole 5 mins before it starts growing back in and itching like heck.
If you decide to get waxed, take a couple Tylenol about an hour before your appt. Also don't go the week before your period becasue your skin will be alot more sensitive at that time.
The skin underneath where a landing strip would be is the most sensitive. So decide if you want to keep a landing strip or go completely bare. Every salon has their own terminology so what one place calls a Brazilian may be different than what another salon does so be specific when you schedule the service. You don't need to be nervous about it. The gyn is alot more awkward and intrusive. And the waxers see those all day everyday so there's nothing to be embarrassed about, plus they'll do their best to make you feel relaxed. Once you start getting it done a few times, the pain/discomfort will lessen each time.
Do not attempt to do it on your own at home becasue you can do alot of damage.
You won't know unless you try it. If you decide you don't like it, then don't get it done again.

I shave only because when i used to wax, it was constantly red and very sensitive because it is a very private and sensitive place. U can easily screw up waxing so if u do wax, u might want to go to a professional, which is very akward. If you shave "down there" daily, then u wont have a problem with ingrown hairs or being uncomfortable when the hair grows back. I would recommend having a landing strip just because its easy to manage and isnt painful if it grows back.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt

Shaving, waxing hurts like a ***** and stinks. Once you begin to shave it may hurt but after some time you won't feel it.

as long as your only itching because of the shaving the wax won't make you itch but you have to be careful because your skin is sensitive there so if it's really sensitive you might get some irritation down there.

Personally I have tried both and I think that waxing is better and yes it is PAIN FULL !!!! But trust me its worth it it last longer and you get EVERYTHING OFF not just the surrounding hair. Be sure to take some Tylenol or Midol or something that relaxes the muscles. GOOD LUCK .
