dont confuse 'national pride' with being right wing.National pride is something a lot of people lack nowadays. You are not right wing just because in your opinion your country might be going to the dogs through shady government or immigration.

As long as you understand your views and why you hold them, I think that it is fine.
Educated, caring people who are interested in politics are always a valuable thing, even if we don't always agree.
I would say that my politics are very left wing. The things that I think that are negative about the 'right wing' are only my opinions, you are of course welcome to have a different opinion from me. Its a free country.
When people say negative things about left-wing types they usually say that we have too idealised a view and are not 'hard' enough' on criminals and immigrants and things. We are also not keen on mixing religion and politics and believe that implementing religious morality is not the role of the government.
In my opinion: Left wing people 'ideally' believe that all people are equal and essentially good if only they are educated and empowered. We also believe that extreme wealth is unecessary and that poverty can be eradicated and that it is the job of governments to help those that cannot help themselves. We tend to have a 'prevention' view on crime and are open minded about gender roles and sexuality.
When I think negative things about right wing politics (the politics mind not the people) it is that it is closed minded and predjudiced against anyone who isn't a religious wealthy white man.
In my opinion, right wingers tend to believe that all people are not equal, that the poor deserve to be poor and that they will always be with us. That the rich deserve their lifestyles and should be encouraged. They tend to be protective of their wealth rather than believing it should be shared. The right wing have a 'punishment' view of crime. They tend to believe that religious morality ought to be enshrined in law, that women and men should stick to traditional roles and that sexuality other, than for a married straight couple, should be suppressed.
You may sit cleanly on one side or the other, or you may have bits of both. Just think about what you think is right, read lots and be open minded.
PS If you are American you don't have a whole lot of choice when it comes to the political spectrum. Both your political parties are pretty middle of the road. In Canada and Britain there are a larger variety of political parties so there is much more choice all the way from 'Greens' on the left through to scary types like the 'BNP'; we do mostly get governments from the Conservative or Labour (Liberal) parties, but at least there are a few other voices there for variety.

Being on either wing is a bad thing. How can you make your mind up about something before looking into it deeply.
There are many different issues in society and the world, people can be conservative (right-wing) about some issues while being liberal (left-wing) about others.
To predetermine your stance on something and keep the same stance on all issues isn't very democratic, open minded or intelligent.

No, being "right wing" isn't inherently bad. Neither is being "left wing." Both sides uphold truths that have validity and impact our lives and our future as a nation and people.
Being a polar extreme of the right or left wing is usually not a good thing, be it fascism or communism or theocracy or plutocracy or anarchism etc. etc. etc. Fanatic idealism usually ends up leading to conclusions that, if enacted, could destroy civil rights, human rights, freedom and prosperity.

Not necessarily. But the Far Right Wing takes you into fascism.
There's nothing wrong with being Left-wing either, but if taken too far you get Communism.
Nothing wrong with Liberals and Conservatives - at least the ones who can get along with each other and respect each other's views.

No. Political ideas are great. It's when you start insulting and opressing others for having dissenting views that it starts becoming a bad thing. Left, Right, Centrist, Libertarian...it doesn't matter...we're all American and that's what should really count.
It's so nice to see a question that doesn't insult someone.

No, as you hold views that are of a conservative nature. It takes two wings to fly and they must oppose each other
