A lot of people are unaware of the fact that Universal Express is now an upcharge or provided to guests of the Universal property hotels. It is no longer a free system like FastPass at Disney.

Buying Universal Express really depends on when you plan to visit. The majority of the year it is unnecessary. Also, you're limited to one Universal Express Pass per attraction (not all attractions offer it).

Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure are busy from mid-June until early-August. They're also busy over the Thanksgiving holiday week and the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Other than those periods Universal Express is a waste.

If you visit off-season, especially a weekday then you'll enjoy the Universal Parks without any long lines.

I'm not as familiar with the crowd patterns at Universal Studios Park, but at Islands of Adventure it is a work youself back from the rear to the front of the park if you arrive at opening. If you're there at 9:00 am skip Hulk, go for Spiderman once and then go to the back of the park. What you'll find at 9:00 am is a long line for Hulk and no line for Dueling Dragons. By 1:30 pm you'll find the opposite. A walk-on for Hulk and a long line for Dueling Dragons.

The major must ride attractions are: Incredible Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Jurassic Park, Spiderman, Dudley Doo Rights Rip Saw Falls, Popeye and Pluto's Raft Barges, Dr. Doom's Fearfall, One Fish, Two Fish, and Cat in the Hat. The Poseidon show is also very good, but unfortunately has been dumbed down over the years.

In Universal Studios Park the popular attractions are Revenge of the Mummy, Twister, Men in Black and Shrek 3D. I tend to prefer Islands of Adventure over Universal.

I was at universal this past Febuary when Kid Rock performed. We went for 2 days and we actually got the express pass on our last day. If you get the express pass Keep in mind that you can only ride each ride ONCE on that pass. Which I think is a load of crap cause they already charge ya out the butt for the pass. If you have older Children that you feel comfortable letting them ride in a group there are some rides that have single rider lanes and they move rather quickly. Just make sure you ride Men In Black. Its an interactive ride and you get to shoot aliens. That was a lot of fun

You can get a four park ticket which includes universal studious, island of adventures, sea world, and wet-n-wild. I believe you need to talk to a travel agent to get it I am not sure but I know it is out there. Also you can buy a park express pass, but get there as soon as they open or they will be gone. Also go the opposite direction of the crowd. If you get in and the crowd is going right, go left. The lines will be shorter. I worked for Disney for 2 years and frequent all the parks in Orlando. Godd luck! hope that helps.

We have season passes for Universal/IOA.
Spiderman is definitely one you want to get express pass, as well as the Hulk-the big roller coasters. We like having the ability to go between the two parks so make sure you have "park hopping". IOA has more rides, our daughters say.
Do you have kids who will be with you? Sea World-Shamu is one you won't want to miss. Adults love it too!
Wet-n-wild-is just that. Have fun!
Also, there are several "dinner shows" that are fun and a great way to spend an evening after long days at the parks-The Pirate Show, Dixie Stampeed, Arabian Nights, Midevel Times....

Get there as early as you can and hit the most popular rides (such as the Hulk) as fast as you can. We rode it 3 times, cause we got there at 9:00am and nobody was there. If it looks like rain, go to Universal Studios....they don't close down all the rides in rain (Islands of Adventure does). Make sure you buy one of the Drink and Food bracelets....for a fee, you can get all the food and drinks you want (the drink one came in real handy). If you buy your tickets on-line, it saves you about $4. per ticket. Don't buy gift cards for Universal, because nobody in the park knows how to accept them and it becomes a HUGE hassle. They gave us a lot of greif when we tried to use the ones we got for a wedding gift, and they didn't want to cash them in either.
Have a great time. Oh and don't forget the Boardwalk...it is really fun to....especially if you are a Night person.

I think you can get an express pass and it counts for all rides....I think thats how it was when I went 2 years ago....but even with an express pass there is still a long line to wait in....I had VIP so I went to the front of the line haha....but I would ride the HULK,Duling Dragons,The mummy one and so on....the 3D spider man ride is pretty cool too

Get express tickets for Fire and Ice and The Hulk. It's been several years since I've been there but those roller coasters are great!

I would highly reccomend reading"The UNofficial guide to Disney World".It is chock full of pointers. It shows you different ways to attack the park, Must see's, authors choice. And all kind of "inside" knowledge one must know before going! I have been buying the book for years and I take it with me everytime I go.
