Adult humans are usually aware of their surroundings. And know the consequences of their actions. A being that has the ability to learn and understand. A being that is still evolving in the mind. though they still possess primitive psychological traits- rage, hate, fear, defensiveness, self delusion, jealousy etc. Who can say when love, compassion, pity etc. occurred in humans. That could have been a later evolution maybe.
