to solve it you times both x and y by the -2, so then you've got -2y = x so that means x = -1/2 i believe. so when you graph it you mark -1/2 on the x axis of the graph

First, you must recognize that this graph is:

1) NOT linear
2) is invalid when x = 0
3) rewrite it into y=-2(1/x)

Then start plotting points. You'll realize, your graph will approach x and y axis but never touch or cross, and it will appear in two quadrants.
