You mean the democrats that were for opening up schools to all races? Hmmm.
Perhaps you are using a reverse discrimmination theme - that democrats are racists against whites. You know, the KKK party platform.

As far as Lincoln freeing the slaves - that was the old republican party. A party that really was for everyone. The times have changed and even most politicians will tell you that the titles have flip-flopped. What was a republican ideal is now more democratic. What was democratic is now more republican.
And for Byrd, so the guy is a moron in some things. He doesn't represent the entire democratic party any more than DeLay, Bush, Macaca, or Lynn Swann represent the entire republican party. For every Byrd, there are David Duke, Tramm Hudson (black are not great swimmers), and Strom Thurmond (against desegragation). Mel Gibson isn't represenative of all Catholics, either. I know, it's a shock! To codify an entire party based on the antics of a few, is irresponsible and frankly, the work of morons. And obviously, the antics of morons rule supreme in this subject on the net.

First, learn to spell. I assume you mean democrat, though the apparent misspelling could have been intentional.
Second, I am a democrat. I am not racist. I am not a homophobe. My best friend is a gay boy named Eric.
Third, watch the news sometime. Republicans are currently blocking gay marriage, not Democrats. Republcans want to build a fence across the Mexican border, not Democrats. What planet are you on?
