don't get me started on the bible. it's written by humans, it said "men shall not lay with other men" because people were raping thier slaves. taught homophobia is still homophobia. and i don't hate anyone with a bias as long as they RECOGNIZE it and maybe open their minds to something more positive.

maurice, what are you wearing right ow? something nice, a little stretchy, yet breathable? is it made of a poly-cotton blend? if it's any blend of fibers, THAT'S AN ABOMINATION TOO! have you read that one?

if you do read the bible, you will remember this:
1 samuel 18:3-4
"and jonathan made a covenent with david because he loved him as he loved himself. jontahan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to david, along with his tunic and even his sword, his bow, and his belt."

since people in biblical times did not wear underwear, this behaviour, then and now, would be unusual unless david and jonathan had a physical relationship. as you know, david proceeded in life to become none other than the king of israel. so there.

Even though that's what they are they don't like the label because it's something others make fun about. Funny that they can't see the similarity to the way they talk about gay folks. It's okay to use labels when they want to degrade people, but don't like to be labeled themselves. Some of them are aware that homophobics are widely considered to have some real personal issues that often stem from their own homosexual sexual orientation that they cannot and will not face at all costs. This makes them anxious to point out they do not fit into that category, rightly or wrongly.

I find it interesting that Psychiatry categorizes homophobia as a psychological disorder, NOT homosexuality. Homophobics are the first to shout that homosexuality is a mental disorder, when in fact it is them in need of serious therapy.

Jodi S, instead of just reading the bible and quoting the parts that suit your arguement why don't you study it?

You are really just a little bit stupid with a low IQ

You are also desperately patronizing, sanctimonious and self-righteous.

The post above this one is all lies with no links to any statistical proof of the erroneous assertions he/she is making

Hate the sin love the sinner oh FCUK OFF!

Hey Maurice
being gay has nothing to do with sex, you can be a gay celibate virgin, but I guess that doesn't fit with your ideology.

From a scientific point of view, a 'phobia' is the fear of. Therefore, the literal meaning is 'fear of homosexuals'. However, many of the homo's that are criticized, use the word when someone refuses to acknowledge that it is natural, or when they approach some one of their sex to have sexual relations with, and are rejected. Homosexuality is not natural. Even when a homosexual male does not get any diseases that are more common among male homosexuals, their average lifespan is considerably less than heterosexual men. There is far less STD's among lesbian women, except for HPV, which has increased at a higher rate than strictly heterosexual women. Healthy homosexual women can expect, on average, to live to their early 60's. Healthy homosexual men can expect to live to about the mid 50's. This is the stats for non tobacco use and little alcohol consumption. The suicide rate is also high in the homosexual life style, even when they are accepted by their families and communities. Maybe there is some mental health issues there, that need to be looked at. Most people who have lived in the homosexual life style in their teens and early 20's, end up getting married to the opposite sex and have families. I have known some. Some got religion, some decided that they wanted a family, and some discovered, after looking in the mirror, that the life style is unnatural.

So why did you bring up the topic? Someone reject you?

It simply sounds like some are in denial.

If you are "against" homosexuality but leave them alone, don't speak out against them, and really don't care about how they live their personal lives or who they call their mate, you aren't a homophobe.
If you openly discriminate against them, speak out against them in an open forum, or insist that their relationship is inferior to yours based on one of 1000 seperate reasons and does not deserve the same recognition as your own, you ARE a homophobe, and that is that.

1. Fear of or contempt for lesbians and gay men.
2. Behavior based on such a feeling.

1. Who ever said they dont agree with their "existence", probably used the wrong words or word. We dont agree with that life style; it's vile,it's disgusting,it's sinful, it's an anbomination (abomination is the word God used;an abomination being a sin worst than the rest, worse than the sins mentioned in the Ten Commandments).

2. Homophope is a made up word by those who dont wanna believe that the sexual lifestyle their engaging is is not right in any way, form, or fashion

3. People against homosexulity dont have a brain disorder, they have a spiritual conviction that it's wrong.

4. As my dad (Christian Minister) sad it, geomety alone should be enough evidence it's not right. As someone else said gay people cant naturally have children;becuase the parts dont fit. Gay people and anyone who supports it is trying to deny that the penis and vagina have a purpose. Yes! there is a purpose for the sexual parts, the purpose is for us to reproduce and grow our species; not just to do whatever the hell with it. God actually made the sex parts for a specific purpose, and anything going against that purpose, He considers it to be abominable, detestable, not right!

5. You along with a lot of other non-believers are ignorant of God's devices. Your ignorant of how God works; He uses humans majority of the time to get things done.Very rarely does he come Himself to do something. People back then were closeer to God and it's not imposible to see how they would of heard from God to know what to write. God used Noah to carry on life,God used Moses to set His chosen people free, He chose a lot of people to get things done. Just cause the ink was written by human has does not void the validity of the words.

1 Corinthians 6:9-Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

Luke 16:15-And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Leviticus 20:13- a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

No, it's a pathetic excuse to treat somebody poorly. I don't understand the whole homophobe thing at all. I work with a known gay person (and probably plenty that won't admit it) and my wife and my best friends are lesbians. What gays and lesbians do behind closed doors affects me about as much as what I do behind closed doors affects them.

because they're trying to justify their homophobia. They don't want to feel bad for how they feel , which is hateful, judgmental, and most of all, ignorant. People fear what they don't know

i'm not a homophobe. i actually have a friend who is a lesbian. of course, she's married and has a kid and is hiding it from her whole family, but that's a whole different story. i mean, don't get me wrong, there ARE homophobes out there, but i disagree with homosexuality because the Bible teaches that it's wrong, and an abomination... same as murder, adultery, incest, all the bad stuff our modern day sodom and gomorrah thrives on. not a brain disorder, but a faith thing. but in my opinion, you hate the sin, but love the sinner.
