Braces are a pain! They tear up your inner cheeks, sometimes the gum swells and overlaps the bands. If I had a choice to not do it again I would choose no way!! And the wax the dentist gives you is a pain too. It smells yucky, it is gross in the mouth and looks gross on. It is not something you want to wear in public, at night or while at home is ok. Oragel works for the pain of the sores. Tightening doesnt hurt that much.

They can be uncomfortable, but it doesn't hurt like when you get them tightened. Talk to you Dr about it and make sure that nothing is poking you sharply in your mouth and inner cheek before you leave. He should give you some wax to put on the braces so they don't rub against the inside of your cheek too much. Be prepared to only eat soft foods and liquids for a few days because it may hurt if you bite into something hard while your mouth is still adjusting.
Good luck - you'll be grateful you did it when your all done!

nicely the brackets will sense weird and wonderful once you first get your braces positioned on because your gums is in basic terms not used to having something rubbing adversarial to it. they could be scraping your gums slightly, so be sensible to apply wax to positioned on them. (ask your orthodontist for some) nicely... braces must be quite painful once you first get them on, yet they are not undesirable after that. the in simple terms different time it hurts is once you get a sparkling cord and perhaps your first tightening or 2. desire this facilitates!

I have braces, but they might hurt a little for a few days. your teeth will be sore and you can barely chew food, so i recommend you to take aspirin or advil and eat soft foods.

Yea, they hurt pretty bad for the first couple of days, but you get used to it. Make sure you have some pain meds around the house. Seriously.

i have just got rid of them after 2 years, they didn't hurt but they ache because your teeth are being pulled to make them straight and it is putting pressure on your gums,it goes after a few days but it is well worth it in the end,not my teeth are perfect x x x x

Yes. Not while they put them on, but about 1 hour afterwards, for a week.
Good luck!
