i already tried the whole night lite thing but it disturbes his sleep and he is not the cuddly type cause he has to sleep on his stomach. and for those of you that might think im a baby, the only reason im scared of the dark is because of things that happened to me as a child that were beyond my control and while he knows these things he still doesnt understand why i should still be scared cause there really is nothing that can harm me but i for some dang reason am still scared of the dark!!!

my wife has the same problem with the dark so while I do prefer the dark,we do have several night lites throughout the house with one being in the bedroom. I have gotten to the point where they don't bother me at all. I wouldn't ask him being as it is a mutual relationship. I would simply put them in and tell him to wear a blindfold or get over it. If he cares about you, then he should be more than willing to compromise. If not, then obviously there are other problems.

Get a watch with indiglow, or a little LED light that you can turn on when you get scared. In the dark, a tiny little light can really light things up pretty good. That way he doesn't have to sleep with a light on, but you have a light to comfort you when you're scared. Or if he's okay with a little night light on your side of the bed, that would work too.

Did you know the reason why woman wrinkle up more than man is because woman tend to sleep with the lights on? What happens is that the dark was made to rest, it is the only time your brains produce a substance called melatonine, is that what makes you sleepy. Most woman, specially celebreties, they even sleep with a blac mask, so they would rest better at night and have a fresh look in the morning.

Your husband is doing the right thing. Try to hug him tight so you wouldn't be afraid of the dark. Eventualy you'll get used to it.

Get a little night light to put in the hall. I don't have to have a light on but I like a little bit so I can see where I am going if I need to get up in the middle of the night. I have street lights outside that are enough light to do the job.

a soft glowing night light on your side of the bed.

I am dang near blind as a bat so having a night light is a must for me.

There are many types so you can have almost next to nothing to fairly bright.

And, depending on the layout of your bedroom, you could also put a night light in the bathroom.

best,

You scared versus him liking dark...hmmm. I think your big, strong, manly husband can bite the bullet, hug you closer and concede to you leaving a small light on. Sheesh.

Leaving a light on in another part of the house / apartment may give you enough diffused light in your bedroom... kitchen, bathroom, hallway...

put a night light on or leave your blinds open just a little to let some street light in

Another suggestion would be is to get a fish tank if you like fish and have the aquarium light on for not only background noise and a little bit of light
