My brother has a new wife and i didn't really like her when they were dating, but now that she is married to him i have chosen to bury the hatchett for my bro's sake. i'm trying to figure out what to put in the card, but i'm quite clueless. i wrote a whole blurb of nice heartfelt things to my bro, but it's rather difficult for me to do the same with her. i'm at the point where i'll steal somone else's words just so that she won't feel left out.

its the best first thing you can do...then a nic lunch and then maybe some shopping after a while...you just fake it till you make it- for your bros sake..

Take her out to lunch and explain to her that you want to bury the hatchet. Tell her that you know that both of you have had problems in the past but you want to move on and start all over again and become her friend. Usually it is better to say it to her face then in a card. Then when you do write something in a card she will find it sincere.

Say,"Welcome to the family! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!" Keep it simple, short and sweet. Don't make it long and insincere. Don't over-do. Hope this helped.

Ok, just keep it simple. She will know if you don't mean it, anyway. Welcome her to the family, and tell her you look forward to getting to know her better. Say something like "You have made my brother very happy and I am so thankful he has you in his life". Just don't go overboard or she will know that's a bunch of insincere crap.

Say, "you don't look nearly as bad as the first time I met you".
Or, "let me tell you about a diet I've heard about"
Or, "do you cut your own hair?"

(ha!)
