Oh if he is trying to hurt you now. Imagine what he would do when you tell him. I say get your stuff together set up a place to move and when he goes to work or out LEAVE. And don't look back. Then he should get the papers and its not guarantee he will sign them. But to answer your question NO don't tell. Its really not worth your life.

Dear Zion

Sounds like hubby is using his stroke to cling. No, I would not tell him you're filing for divorce. Do everything quietly and simply have him served by someone else. You do not have to serve him either.

If you feel unsafe then make sure you have a Safety Plan. You can contact your local domestic violence hotline for information about safety plans.

However, to me it sounds like you've done enough and he doesn't appreciate it. He is using, misusing, and abusing you. Time to move on.

Questions to ask your self before filing: Do I love this man anymore. Can it work between the two of us if we go to counseling. Is children involved in this separation. My advise is try counseling before filing and see what is the outcome. Have a bless day.

Not only would I let him know, I would put them on a breakfast tray for him to sign, you can either be a wimp and get pissed on for the remainder of your life, or get a backbone, and let him go!! and enjoy what life you have left

Just file for divorce. That way you won't have him trying to guilt you into staying. Good luck with your new future.

Hunny, when they serve him with the divorce papers make sure there is a restraining order with it. I can tell by what you are not saying that he is abusive. Please take care of yourself, no need to tell him the server will.

well don't give him a heart attack this time. you should be upfront about your intentions and just tell him. either way he's going to find out sooner or later. it's best if he hears it from you rather than from a court.
