I agree with just about everything thats been said above, but I think the more important question is why is there adult swim on a channel meant for kids, they could have made up their own channel for it.

Pee-wee's playhouse is an awesome show - it's so funny. It was on cartoon network a couple of years ago and I watched it all the time. I am glad they brought it back on adult swim because I think more adults than kids watch it.

It was until he was arrested for masturbating in public at an XXX movie theater. Now, Pee-Wee's Playhouse is viewed completely differently. Also, it was a kid's show back in the 80's and 90's...most kids today wouldn't understand it, or think it's funny. It's on Adult Swim for the humor of having it on and for nostalgic purposes for the young adults who used to watch it as kids.

Pee-Wee was the pre Michael Jackson celebrity pedophile wack job. His act was very similar to the TV show in that he played his Mr Rodgers on acid as Peter Pan character on stage and in recordings way before the Saturday morning cartoon was made.
He made a movie which made money and brought him out of his Cheech and Chong movie bit parts. There was a lot of cocaine in the blood stream of Hollywood at the time and Pee Wee appealed to the kid in all of us. His TV show is full of drug and sexual innuendos, bi,straight and homosexual tension between cast members, and old school trippin' cartoon clips.
Pee Wee's Playhouse was more for the parents than the kids then and now.

The show is weird enough to be rated as "Something you'd watch when you're high"
Not that I'd know, but I know loads of stoners, and if you pay attention to the colors, the shapes, and talking chairs, you'd understand exactly why adult swim put it on there. And what's worse, I think it'll be there for a while.

well... it is... i think they were just testing out what old show got ratings... they had 'Save By the Bell' on there not that long ago... i guess Pee-Wee got more ratings...

and, they are adult swim and can do whatever they want... they really don't care what we think and they are awesome for that...

adult swim thought it was a good idea to put it on there since a lot of adults used to watch that with their kids or wen they were a little younger and would like to reminice the younger days

Becasue he was caught --out of costume--several years ago pleasuring himself at an x rated theater and cancelled his show as inappropriate for kids, even though kids wouldn't have known a thing about it and wouldn't have recognized him anyway. It was a disgrace, in my opinion.
