When it costs about $80 to fill up my husband's vehicle (NOT an SUV), then I think they are too high!!! Hopefully they will go down soon...we'll see...the oil companies are greedy!!

Spend some time overseas and you'll be glad we pay so little for fuel.
When I started driving, in 1982, gasoline was around $1/gallon. In 1986 the prices dropped when the U.S. started importing more crude oil. I can remember paying $0.69/gallon.
Prices are only going to continue to rise. Everybody wants to blame the government and make them do something about it. When gasoline prices hit $2/gallon, in the summer of 2000, the government opened up the strategic oil reserves and prices dropped. This was only a temporary solution. Think of it as putting a band-aid over a deep cut that requires stitches. The outgoing administration, at that time, knew they wouldn't have to deal with it.
It's not the governments problem. We, the consumers, are using more and more gasoline every year. If you are not doing anything to reduce the amount of gasoline you are consuming, then it will have a drastic impact on your income. Everyone who uses gasoline should think of ways to reduce how much you use. This won't lower prices, but it will help you retain some of your income.

Did you know that 40+ cents per cost of a gallon of gas is federal taxes?
PS - in America, we don't give a rats-@ss what the Europeans are paying for fuel. The Saudis only pay 13 cents per litre.

definitely me...it is crazy how high the prices are and i dont think it is fair to people who only own one car to take their whole family around in if they dont have much money...they are paying so much for gas, it is taking away from other more important things
