well...
i think that your speaking mostly about the U.S..... since your little study has a very limited scope... however...
I think that there is several factors involved...
prejudice often has a factual history that is... it usually evolves from a bad experience, to bad experiences to stereotipification to full on racist behavior. when slavery was abolished, most black men were seen still as slaves, they could not get jobs and the few that could have businesses, often struggled because white men still saw them as underlings.... being men... they had to eat, and dress... so a few of them probably became outlaws.... the fact that this was a rapid change rather than gradual, created the stereotype that black people in the US were either beggars or criminals.... and I believe that it's been with them ever since... some try to break that stereotype, such as Malcom X, Jessee Jackson... etc, however they are very few compared to the legions of black men who prefer to be seen as gangsters, bad as ses and hoodlums... they do more harm to black people, than anyone else.... they take pride in the public enemy immage and even exult in it.... so the black man's worst enemy... is himself.

Part of it is ignorance, part is because at one time black people were slaves and considered an inferior race. Unfortuantly, segeragation was still active into the 60's. And after GENERATIONS of people living like that, I expect it to take another 100 years before it dies down.
However, there's a flip side to this as well. Some black people--and this is not intented to be taken racially--use their skin color as a crutch. They will do something illegal then cry that they got arrested because they are black. This does not help the race at all either. Just as the KKK does not help the white race in showing that we are equals.
It will just take more time, and more generous loving open minded people to overcome such prejudgices.
Personally, I like everyone and will treat you according to how you treat me. If you're kind, I will be kind... if you're a jerk-- i will still try to be kind, but not always... I do have that Irish temper. :)

Part of the problem is in how you present yourself. On the whole, people are more likely to respond to others who look similar the them in dress and demeanor regardless of skin color. It also depends on your experiences; if you've been ripped-off by someone, you will be suspicious of people who remind you of that someone. If you feel you're being played, you're less likely to look favorably on someone. And if you look out of place - you're in cut-off jeans and a Tshirt and everyone else is wearing a suit - you will be eyed suspiciously.
This is all human nature. Try not to paint with such a broad brush.

I think if you did a documentary on asian people, you might find a similar result. It also depends on the part of the country or the part of the city you are in. There are parts of the country where white people would get the same response.
It is a terrible thing. All people should be treated the same, no matter what, but that doesn't happen.

I have nothing against black but please don't insult my intelligent and say that it was because of black people that asian and hispanic people were allow into this country. Check your history. As for black being look down by asian people. From my experience it was the other way around. You're a white racist woman who has preference for one race and try to put other races down while denying that you're racist.

Because systematically, we are programmed to. Take our educational system for example, in history class, about 95% of the lessons they teach are lies. We are taught from kindergarten that the Euro's were the heroes. We dressed up as pilgrims and indians and are told a false story on how they became friends. We don't discuss the asia-africa contributions to the world and civilization. While the white race were beating each over the head with clubs wearing mammoth fur, the africans were teaching the world how to read and do math.

I think that black people have built up a reputation over the years for two things. Attitude and Crime which = Thugs . It's almost like they are proud of it also. This country was built on slavery and white people feel like some kind of pride in that weather it be right or wrong.
I'm not out to make anyone mad but this is how I feel about this subject.

It maybee just a one off case, we do not look down upon black people, infact we just dont go about testing people if they like black people, you have racial issues that need to be addressed, what other reason can you give for coming up something like this.

It is wrong to say that all races look down on black people. It would be more accurate to say that some people of all races look down on black people. Of course since some black people look down on other people you could just forget the question of race and ask why some people look down on other people.

It's a shame, but even black people look down on black people
:((Have you heard the phrase"The darker the berry the sweeter the juice?") Believe it or not, I heard one black person refer to another as "red" and because of that, I can now see color variations among black people, too. One of the most prejudiced people I know is a doctor from Africa...then I met another person from Africa and learned that Africans look down on black people in America(they reffer to them as"ghetto blacks"). There is prejudice everywhere, and I don't understand it either:(
