You do get certain protections from using a credit card.

Consider a few things:
Could you pay the card off in full before incurring interest? If not then add interest to the increased cost of the trip.
What protections or guarantees do you have in th event the trip is cancelled or if the agency goes bankrupt before your trip?

Go with another company... they are charging you what they have to pay the cc company which is just a part of doing business. The travel protection plan is a rip off in 90% of the cases.

You would want to use a cc because they off automatic auto insurance when you use the car to pay for it and you can dispute charges if the company tries to rip you off.

I'd say no. You need 25,000 miles just for a domestic flight. That would mean those miles would cost $500. You could get an airline ticket for much less.

Did you know that they are violating the rules of the Credit Card Co?

no - you can get miles other ways - and who knows when you actually get around to using them, it might not be that easy.. Save the $100
