From what I've heard, STAY AWAY from KAzaa too. Full of spyware, just like Morpheus!!!

Try " Ares Galaxy " . It is a great Program for downloading Music, Videos, Documents etc. There are no third party Advertisers and pop ups etc at all. It is a very good P2P ( Peer to Peer) Program. It is very stable and rather small sized Program with its own Media Player built in as well.

There are different softwares available.
If you use the software which is very popular,that is the best option.
Since you are downloading music from other's PC ie (sharing),immense number of files are available w.r.t the popularity of the software.
Also your download speed will be high if you opt the popular one.You can download from different hosts which will be shoot up the download speed.
There are different programs.Limewire,Winmx Music etc..
but i recommend Limewire since it is very fast,popular,ad-free,easy to use and had a large collection of files.The most imp: thing is that it can tranfer data between firewalls.

If u want a peer to peer program I suggest u limewire ant http://www.limewire.com the basic edition is free but u should pay for pro.the pro version is the best in p2p sofwares and has a incredible speed.u can have limewire pro free by downloading it from limewire basic or dl from http://www.9down.com
and if u want for new technologies go to http://www.bit-torrent-sites.com and share Ur files there.it is faster and safer than p2p softwares.good luck

STAY AWAY FROM MORPHEUS!!! It's full of spyware. Your best bet is to download Limewire. Once you download the free version, search for the pay version "Limewire Pro" and download it.
